Peter Osborne

Peter Osborne is one of Asia's foremost hands-on business leaders. He spent over a decade as Managing Director for Asia for Blackmores. In this role he oversaw operations in 14 markets as well as a joint venture in Indonesia with Kalbe Farma, the largest listed pharmaceutical company in South-East Asia. Peter also served for 23 years in the Australian government, including as Australia's most senior trade diplomat as Senior Trade Commissioner in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. In this role, he ran successful market entry, investment, promotional and marketing strategies, with a particular focus on Greater China.

Today, Peter provides strategic advice on China and Asia market development strategies in the food, healthcare, skincare and cosmetics, FMCG, fashion, homewares, and medical devices industries.

He was appointed in December 2019 by Tsinghua University, Beijing, as special research fellow for the China National Social Science Foundation Project on the Cross Culture Studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has also served as Vice-Chairman of the China Association for Quality Inspection (CAQI) under the supervision of the China State Administration for Market Regulation—the first and only foreign national to hold this position.
